I was born not so many years ago in Jacksonville, FL at Riverside Hospital to Luman Edward Beasley and Linda Gail Burnham Beasley. I grew up in Baldwin, FL, a little town on the outskirts of Jacksonville. My summers and vacations were spent traveling the state of Florida. We visited family in Hilliard, West Palm Beach, and Panama City Beach. My Step-father worked for the state as a supervisor in the Agriculture and Consumer Services Division, so traveling was frequent. My mother worked for Winn-Dixie headquarters in Jacksonville. I attended Mamie Agnes Jones Elementary School and Baldwin Jr-Sr High School until my junior year when I moved to my Grandmother's home in Hilliard. I attended Hilliard High School for my last two years of school.
After school I married my first wife and had three wonderful children. It was after my third son was born that I started my law enforcement career. In 1997 when my fourth son was born, I was hired by the Charlton County Georgia Sheriff's Department as a dispatcher. After three months as a dispatcher I was moved to the jail. Six months later I was in the police academy.
In 1999 I was hired by the Nahunta Police Department. In the same year I moved from Folkston to Nahunta and made it my home. In July of 2000 I married the love of my life and we became a family. With five children now we truly were the Beasley Bunch. Spetember 2000 tragedy struck and the home we lived in caught fire and was lost to us. Through the help of our community, and family we bounced back. Then in December 2000 I was named Interim Chief of Police. One year later I was appointed Chief of Police, a position I held until April of 2004.
I hope you have enjoyed my little trip down memory lane. See my other sites for a closer glimpse into what makes me, well, me.
